Have Claude remove your info from data-broker sites
Hey, it's Cindy ๐ฑ This is how I get Claude to do the boring part: two copy-paste prompts to map every site holding your info and draft the removal requests.
btw the waitlist for AI System Club is now open! If you're keen on using AI to automate your content, video editing, job search, business or build AI agents, feel free to sign up (only if you want to hehe). Ps. the waitlist gets first dibs:)
๐ก The whole idea. You are not deleting yourself from the internet, you are opting out of each broker one at a time. Claude builds the list, writes the requests, and does the clicking. You stay in the driver's seat and approve every single submission before it goes out.

What "opt-out" actually means
What you are doing: opt-out and suppression Most US people-search sites run on an opt-out model. You ask them to suppress your listing and stop selling it. It works, but the record can still sit on their back end, and they can re-list you if they re-scrape a public source later.
What you are not doing: legal erasure A true "right to erasure" only applies if a law covers you, like the EU's GDPR or, in a lighter form, California's CCPA. If you are in California or the EU, tell Claude and it will phrase the request under that right. Everyone else uses the plain opt-out route.
๐ซ They come back. Brokers re-scrape public records, so listings often reappear within 30 to 90 days. This is a maintenance task, not a one-time fix. Re-run the first prompt every couple of months to catch the ones that crept back.
step one
Prompt 1: map every site holding your info
Open Claude (the free tier is fine for this part) and paste this. Fill the brackets with the details a broker would list. The more past addresses you give it, the more listings it will surface.
paste into Claude
You are helping me remove my personal information from data-broker and
people-search sites. Here are my details, which is what a broker would
list:
- Full name (plus any middle name, maiden name or nickname): [ ]
- Current city and state: [ ]
- Past cities I have lived in: [ ]
- Age or year of birth: [ ]
- Email addresses and phone numbers that might be attached to me: [ ]
Build me a table of the major US data-broker and people-search sites
that are likely showing my details. For each one give me:
1. The site name.
2. The exact opt-out or suppression URL (do not guess a link, only list
opt-out pages you can confirm exist).
3. What the opt-out actually does (suppress the listing, stop the sale,
or fully remove).
4. What verification it needs from me (email link, phone or text code,
photo ID, or an account signup).
5. Roughly how long removal takes.
Start with the biggest aggregators that feed the smaller sites, and flag
any where a single opt-out covers multiple sites.
step two
Prompt 2: draft every removal request
Stay in the same chat and follow up with this, so Claude turns the raw list into requests you can actually send.
paste into Claude
Using the list you just built, draft everything I need for each site,
numbered so I can work through them one at a time.
- For sites with a web form: write the exact text I should paste into
each field, including a short line stating I am the person named and I
am requesting suppression under the site's own opt-out process.
- For sites that take an email: write a short, firm opt-out email, one
per broker, with a subject line and body, asking them to suppress and
stop selling my listing and to confirm in writing when it is done.
Keep every request framed as an opt-out, do-not-sell and suppression
request, NOT a legal "right to erasure" claim, unless I tell you I am in
California or the EU. Keep the tone polite and factual.
step three
Let Claude submit them for you
To have Claude fill and send the forms instead of you copy-pasting into 40 sites, add the browser connector.
๐ฐ What it costs. The two prompts work on Claude's free tier at claude.ai. The browser connector, Claude in Chrome, needs a paid plan (Pro starts around US$20 per month) and runs on Chrome desktop only. If you would rather not pay, do steps one and two and submit the forms yourself.
๐งฉ Install Claude in Chrome. It is the Claude browser extension, in beta on all paid plans. Add it from the Chrome Web Store, pin it, and sign in. A side panel opens next to your tabs and can read and act on the page you have open.
โ Keep per-site approval ON. In the side panel, leave it set so Claude pauses and asks before it acts on each new site. Do not switch it to full auto for this job. You want to eyeball every form before it submits your name and address.
๐ Hand Claude the list. Paste the requests from Prompt 2 and tell it: open each opt-out page one at a time, fill the form with my details, then stop and show me before you submit. It works down the list, pausing at each site for your yes.
๐ Do the human-only steps yourself. When a site throws a CAPTCHA, a phone or text code, an email confirmation link, or an ID upload, Claude stops. You complete that bit, then let it carry on to the next broker.
๐ซ Claude will not solve CAPTCHAs or fake identity checks, by design. Those steps stay with you. And do not paste a photo of your ID into a chat you are not comfortable with. Some brokers ask for it, most do not need it.
๐ก Approval on is the whole point. Because Claude pauses at every site, you see exactly what is being submitted and where. Nothing leaves under your name without you clicking yes.

The big aggregators to hit first
Spokeospokeo.com/optout Search your listing, paste the URL, confirm by email. Removal in about 1 to 3 days.
๐ก In California? Use DROP. The state's Delete Request and Opt-Out Platform lets you file one deletion request that reaches every data broker registered in California, for free. Ask Claude for the current link and add it to the top of your list.
