Hey, it's Cindy ๐ฑ This is the whole workflow from the video, step by step, so one photo becomes a finished carousel in every format.

What you need
๐ธ One photo You or your product, even with a messy background. This single image carries every slide.
๐จ Canva Magic Eraser, Background Remover, Style Match and Resize are paid-plan features. The layout and duplicate steps work on Free.
๐ง Claude Any plan, free included. It writes the slide copy before you open Canva, so you design once instead of rewriting.
โฑ๏ธ About 20 minutes Most of it is the first slide. Everything after that is copying the look you already made.
Most carousels fall apart because the words get figured out inside the design tool. Write them first and the design becomes a fill-in job. Paste this into Claude with your topic.
๐ง Write my carousel slide by slide
I'm making an Instagram carousel about [your topic, for example "how I plan a week of content in one hour"]. The audience is [who it's for], and the one thing I want them to do after swiping is [save it, try the method, follow for part two].
Write it as 6 to 8 slides. Slide 1 is a short hook of 8 words or fewer that makes someone stop, and the last slide is a clear takeaway. For every slide give me: the headline (under 8 words), one supporting line (under 20 words), and a note on where my photo should sit, full-bleed, cut out on the side, or small.
Keep the tone warm and plain, no hype words. Then give me 3 alternative hooks for slide 1 that each use a different angle, so I can pick the strongest.
build it
The Canva workflow, in order
๐ Start at the right size. Create a design at 1080 ร 1350 px, the portrait carousel size on Canva's Instagram size guide, or pick one from the carousel templates. Upload your photo and drop it on page 1.
๐งฝ Clean the background with Magic Eraser. Select the photo, click Edit in the toolbar, then under Tools choose Magic Eraser. Use Brush to paint over cables, clutter or people, or Click to remove a whole object in one go. Canva's Magic Eraser help.
๐ Duplicate the page. Select the page and click Duplicate page above the editor. You now have the clean photo twice: one to keep as a full background, one to cut out. How to manage pages.
โ๏ธ Cut out the subject on the copy. On the duplicate, select the photo and click BG Remover. If an edge looks rough, click it again and use the Erase or Restore brush. Background Remover help.
๐งฑ Put a new background behind it. Add a texture, a colour block or a blurred version of the original photo, then select it and use Position, then To back, so your cut-out sits on top. Layering help.
โ๏ธ Lay out slide 1 with your hook. Paste the headline and supporting line from Claude. Get this one slide looking exactly right before you touch the others, because every other slide copies it.
๐ช Carry the look across with Style Match. Select a graphic on slide 1, click Edit, then Style Match, then See all, and apply the style to the matching elements on the other slides. Style Match help.
๐ฑ Resize into every format. Click Resize, tick Instagram story (1080 ร 1920), square (1080 ร 1080) and landscape, then choose Copy & resize so your original stays untouched. Up to 5 new sizes per design. Resize help.
Style Match copies art styles from graphics, not from a photo, and Canva notes a daily limit on it. If you only need fonts and colours to match, use Edit, then Styles, then Apply to all pages (styles help), or Copy style from the toolbar (copy style help).
finish it
Polish the slides before you post
Once the slides are designed, export slide 1 and the last slide as images and let Claude look at them. It catches the two things that kill carousels: a hook you can't read at thumbnail size and an ending with no reason to save.
๐ Review my first and last slide
I've attached the first and last slide of an Instagram carousel. Look at them the way someone scrolling fast would see them on a phone.
For slide 1, tell me whether the hook is readable at a small size, whether the text fights with the photo, and what one change would make it stop the scroll. For the last slide, tell me whether it gives a clear reason to save or share, and rewrite the text if it doesn't.
Be specific, point to the exact word, colour or position you'd change, and keep each fix to one sentence.
๐ฑ One photo, many slides Vary the crop and the cut-out position between slides so it never looks like the same image eight times.
๐ก Contrast first If the headline sits over the photo, the new background you added in step 5 is your contrast fix.
