Hey, it's Cindy 🌱 A walkthrough that turns one photo and your post's message into a finished Canva carousel.
btw the waitlist for AI System Club is now open! If you're keen on using AI to automate your content, video editing, job search, business or build AI agents,

Choose the photo and the plan
Start with a photo you own or have permission to use, with the subject in focus and room around its edges. Keep the untouched original. Open Canva’s photo editor and create a portrait carousel design, for example 1080 × 1350 pixels.
Magic Eraser and premium resizing can require an eligible Canva plan. Background Remover’s public tool offers a limited free path; Canva Pro supports broader use. Look at the feature badge and your own account’s allowance before subscribing. A trial is not a permanently free plan.
You can still make a carousel on a free account using cropping, ordinary adjustments, duplicated pages and manual resizing. Those options do not promise the same automatic removal or premium export features.
Clean and separate the subject
- Remove distractionsSelect the image, open Edit photo and choose Magic Eraser where available. Brush only over the distracting object, then inspect the result at full size. Undo and use smaller brush strokes if hair, hands or product edges become distorted. Canva’s Magic Eraser instructions show the tool.
- Keep a clean copyDuplicate the edited image or page before removing its background. The full-photo version remains useful for your cover and before/after slide.
- Create the cutoutSelect the duplicate and use BG Remover. Inspect the outline and use the erase/restore refinements when needed. Put the subject over a solid colour or texture you have permission to use. Background Remover explains this workflow.
Generate all the slide copy in one run
Open Claude in a new chat. Attach the source photo with the composer’s attachment control, then paste the prompt below with your message and audience filled in. Only upload an image you are comfortable sharing with that service. If you prefer not to upload it, replace “photo attached” with a short description and instruct Claude not to infer unseen details. Copy the resulting text and layout directions into your Canva design; a Claude chat without a Canva connection does not edit the file for you.
Write a carousel from my photo and messageI am making a five-slide Canva carousel from the photo attached and this message: [one sentence about the post]. The audience is [who it is for]. Write the complete slide copy now, using only facts I supply or facts visible in the photo. Ask at most three questions if essential; otherwise state any assumption and proceed.
Return: slide 1, a specific cover headline of no more than eight words; slides 2 to 4, one useful point per slide with a headline and no more than 25 body words; slide 5, a clear takeaway and one action the reader can take. Then write one short caption that adds useful context rather than repeating every slide. Do not invent results, testimonials, savings or product claims.
For each slide, give a practical crop/layout instruction using the same source photo: full photo, close crop, cutout or detail. Keep each instruction achievable with normal Canva photo and text layers. Suggest one heading font, one body font and three coordinated colours that keep the text readable. Do not claim you have created or edited a Canva file unless you actually have a connected tool and return a working design link.
Build a matching five-slide set
- Finish one master pageUse the clean photo or cutout, one headline and a simple background. Choose one heading font, one body font and the same small colour palette. Leave comfortable margins and check the text at phone size.
- Duplicate the master four timesKeep its text styles, colours and spacing. Replace the copy with the five-slide text and change only the crop or placement needed for each slide’s job.
- Carry the look across the setUse matching image adjustments and reusable text styles. If your account offers Style Match, use it as an optional starting point and inspect every slide. Duplication and copied formatting provide the same consistency goal without depending on that label being present.
- Check the sequenceRead the five pages in order. The cover creates the question, each body slide adds a different point and the ending resolves it. Remove duplicated claims and ensure no important detail sits under text.
Export and resize without losing the design
- Export the carouselUse Share then Download and select PNG or the image format appropriate for your destination. Select all five pages in the intended order. Open the downloaded files to check cropping, text and sharpness.
- Create the alternate sizeFrom the Canva editor menu bar, choose Resize. Pick a suggested size or Custom size, choose the pages under All pages, then choose Copy & resize to preserve your master. If your account lacks resizing, make a new design at the destination dimensions and copy your layers into it. Canva’s resizing instructions list the supported plans and current usage limits.
- Inspect each new cropResize is a starting point. Move headlines and subject layers away from edges and interface overlays, then export the alternate version separately.
Photo cleanup can alter details. Review faces, fingers, logos and product labels before use. This guide supplies the complete editing route; Canva operations still run in your account and are not performed by a chat prompt alone.
Style Match and resizing: the exact supported paths
For a preset, select a photo or graphic, choose Edit, then Style Match and choose a style. For Copy art style, select a graphic as the source, choose the Copy style icon, then Copy art style and select the target graphic or photo. A photo can receive an art style but cannot be its source. Use duplicated pages and consistent basic formatting when your starting reference is a photograph. Canva’s Style Match guide also warns that styling photos can change facial features or skin tones.
Magic Resize is a premium resizing route. Choose the destination dimensions and create a resized copy where offered, preserving your original. Review every resulting page before exporting. The manual new-canvas route above remains available when your account does not include it.
