LinkedIn headshots: 10 looks + 150 more prompts
Hey, it's Cindy. Here are the ten looks from my video, with the photos and exact prompts, plus 150 more prompts for your own LinkedIn headshots and personal-brand portraits. Choose a look, add your own face references and paste the prompt into whichever AI photo tool you use. You’ll have a clear direction for the outfit, lighting, pose and background before you generate.

For a profile picture, start with one of the closer headshots in the bonus library. For posts or a website, try the wider editorial looks. The photos below are AI-generated examples of me; the new prompts are written to work with your own appearance.
Make your first portrait
- Pick your tool. Any tool that takes your own photos plus a written prompt will work. The six below are the ones worth your money, and one of them is free to try.
- Choose how to supply your face. Either train a likeness on a set of your photos, or attach reference photos to every generation. The trained route looks more like you, the reference route is faster.
- Pick one prompt. Copy the complete text, then change clothing or styling details you want to personalise. Keep your actual facial features, age, skin tone and hair consistent with your references.
- Generate a small test first. Inspect the likeness, eyes, glasses and skin before creating more variations. Save the strongest image at its original resolution, then make the crop you need.
Route 1: train a likeness
You upload a set of photos once, the tool learns your face, and every image after that is generated from that trained likeness. Most tools ask for 8 to 20 clear photos: different angles, different expressions, no sunglasses, no group shots, nothing heavily filtered. Training usually takes minutes. This is the route that holds your face across dozens of looks, so use it when you want a full set of headshots.
Route 2: attach reference photos
You skip training and attach two or three clear photos of yourself to each generation, alongside the prompt. It is instant and often free, and it gets you close, though the likeness drifts more between images. Use the same reference photos for every variation, so you are judging the styling rather than a different face each time. If you also attach a style reference, keep it for the outfit, lighting or composition only, and let your own photos carry your identity.
6 tools that can actually recreate your face
Prices checked 13 September 2026. Four of them learn your face from a set of photos, which is what keeps you looking like you. ChatGPT and Midjourney work from reference photos instead.
Get a portrait that looks like you
A good reference set does more for likeness than adding “photorealistic” ten times. Use photos where your eyes, hairline and facial proportions are easy to see. If a prompt describes a different age, hairstyle or complexion, replace that detail before generating.
For LinkedIn’s profile circle, choose a head-and-shoulders composition with room around the hair and shoulders. Preview it small: your face should still be readable. Keep a full-size original and make a separate crop. The wider studio and office portraits work better in posts, a website biography or personal-brand content.

The ten looks from the video
These are my generated photo examples, with the original screenshot prompts transcribed below. They include full-body editorial portraits as well as closer portraits. The original wording describes my reference look; adapt age, hair and clothing to yourself. Where a source prompt mentions a magazine name, watermark or decorative text, leave those details out of your own result unless you intentionally need them.
01. The ELLE stool look

A straight-on medium shot of a young Asian woman, likely in her early twenties, is styled in a monochromatic, high-fashion editorial setting for a magazine shoot, as evidenced by the prominent "ELLE" watermark in the bottom right corner. She sits on a simple wooden stool, posing with one arm folded across her waist and the other hand resting on her knee. Her facial expression is neutral, conveying an air of seriousness and sophistication. She wears a layered ensemble featuring a ribbed, fitted dark sweater over an oversized, crisp white collared shirt, paired with loosely tailored gray textured trousers and light-colored pointed boots, creating a striking contrast in textures from the knitted sweater to the lightweight cotton of her shirt and the heavier weave of the pants. The background is a seamless, soft white or very light gray studio setup, devoid of any clutter or distractions. Lighting is soft, overall diffuse and even, minimizing shadows and emphasizing the contours of her face and the layered clothing textures. The dominant hues are grayscale, producing an elegant and neutral color palette that enhances a timeless, minimalist mood. Captured digitally with a high-resolution camera, the image is sharply rendered, with a deep depth of field keeping both the subject and outfit details in sharp focus, producing a clean, editorial, and sophisticated mood.

02. Gray blazer in the sunlit office

A soft daylight medium portrait depicts a young Asian woman with a poised and confident demeanor, shown from the upper torso up and turned slightly to one side. Her straight, jet-black hair is meticulously styled into a smooth, low bun. She is wearing a matte gray tailored blazer with a neutral-color blouse underneath, completed by delicate, silver drop earrings with a single pearl accent. The backdrop includes a blurred minimalist office environment, featuring a modern light wood desk and a laptop computer, bathed in strong sunlight that casts pronounced shadows on a pale wall adorned with geometric artwork. The lighting generates subtle specular highlights and even illumination that brings out the suppleness of her smooth, medium skin tone. The color palette is dominated by neutral grays and taupes, complemented by the pale cream and gentle blush accents of her attire and lips. The camera employs a shallow depth of field for a creamy bokeh background, indicative of a professional digital portrait lens, resulting in a crisp image with minimal grain or artifacts. The overall composition is balanced in a business editorial style, exuding an atmosphere of professionalism and calm assurance.

03. Purple suit, sharp shadow

A straight-on, leveled medium shot features a young Asian woman posed confidently against a smooth, cool-toned blue-gray studio backdrop, her features illuminated predominantly by a single light source casting a distinctive sharp shadow along the wall behind her. She wears an oversized, matte-textured purple women's suit with a boxy cut, consisting of an exaggeratedly tailored blazer and matching trousers. Her hair is long, straight, and jet black, falling past her shoulders in a sleek cascade. She accessorizes minimally with elegant silver hoop earrings. No brands are directly visible on her attire, but the bottom right includes white text that reads "Cici AI." The light source appears to be set slightly off-center, creating a chiaroscuro effect across her face and body, sharply defining the facial planes and creating a somber and regal ambiance. The color palette is dominated by rich purple accented by the woman's fair skin and the backdrop's slate blue. Captured digitally and edited with smooth gradients and clean lines, the image is crisp, modern, and editorial, suggesting a sense of high fashion, composure, and understated strength.

She wears a crisp white cotton blouse with exaggerated cuffs, paired with a silky black necktie and matching high-waisted skirt, exuding a sharp office aesthetic. The subject has a neutral, focused expression and speaks into a retro beige landline phone held to her ear, suggesting classic workplace urgency. She carries two stacked beige ring binders, stuffed and slightly chaotic with overflowing documents, on top of which rest two disposable coffee cups with tan sleeves, indicating multitasking. The background is a flat light grey, offering no environmental context and keeping attention on the subject. The lighting is soft and indirect, minimizing harsh shadows and illuminating her features and outfit evenly. The tonal palette is reserved: black, white, beige, and brown dominate, with the occasional ivory from paper edges. Make one change at a time
If the face drifts, return to your clearest reference photos and simplify the styling. Compare the eyes, nose, mouth, jaw and hairline. A portrait can be beautifully lit and still need another pass on likeness.
If the skin looks too smooth, request visible natural skin texture and restrained retouching. For warped glasses, use a straight-on reference wearing a similar frame. If the hands distract, pick a closer crop. If the image invents lettering or logos, ask for a plain background and unbranded clothing.
For a useful mini-set, keep your identity references and outfit fixed, then try three directions: a straight-on headshot, a slight shoulder turn and a wider portrait. That gives you options for a profile, a bio and a post without changing everything at once.
Keep the prompt and selected settings beside the result you like. You can come back to the same direction when you need a different crop or a new outfit. More practical AI resources are in all free guides.
