LinkedIn headshots: 110 prompts, 10 with photos
For a profile picture, start with one of the closer headshots. For posts or a website, the wider seated and editorial looks give you more to work with. The photos are AI-generated examples of me, and the 100 prompts underneath are written to work with your own appearance.
Make your first portrait
- Pick your tool. Any tool that takes your own photos plus a written prompt will work. The six below are the ones worth your money, and one of them is free to try.
- Choose how to supply your face. Either train a likeness on a set of your photos, or attach reference photos to every generation. The trained route looks more like you, the reference route is faster.
- Pick one prompt. Copy the complete text, then change clothing or styling details you want to personalise. Keep your actual facial features, age, skin tone and hair consistent with your references.
- Generate a small test first. Inspect the likeness, eyes, glasses and skin before creating more variations. Save the strongest image at its original resolution, then make the crop you need.
Route 1: train a likeness
You upload a set of photos once, the tool learns your face, and every image after that is generated from that trained likeness. Most tools ask for 8 to 20 clear photos: different angles, different expressions, no sunglasses, no group shots, nothing heavily filtered. Training usually takes minutes. This is the route that holds your face across dozens of looks, so use it when you want a full set of headshots.
Route 2: attach reference photos
You skip training and attach two or three clear photos of yourself to each generation, alongside the prompt. It is instant and often free, and it gets you close, though the likeness drifts more between images. Use the same reference photos for every variation, so you are judging the styling rather than a different face each time. If you also attach a style reference, keep it for the outfit, lighting or composition only, and let your own photos carry your identity.
6 tools that can actually recreate your face
Prices checked 13 September 2026. Four of them learn your face from a set of photos, which is what keeps you looking like you. ChatGPT and Midjourney work from reference photos instead.
Get a portrait that looks like you
A good reference set does more for likeness than adding “photorealistic” ten times. Use photos where your eyes, hairline and facial proportions are easy to see. If a prompt describes a different age, hairstyle or complexion, replace that detail before generating.
For LinkedIn’s profile circle, choose a head-and-shoulders composition with room around the hair and shoulders. Preview it small: your face should still be readable. Keep a full-size original and make a separate crop. The wider studio and office portraits work better in posts, a website biography or personal-brand content.

The ten looks
01. Cream silk shirt on warm gray

A straight-on three-quarter-length studio portrait features a young Asian woman in her twenties standing against a seamless warm gray backdrop. She wears a relaxed ivory silk button-up shirt with a soft collar, a single patch pocket at the chest and gently blousing sleeves, tucked into high-waisted black tailored trousers with a clean centre pleat. The silk has a low satin sheen that catches the light along the shoulders and forearms, contrasting the flat matte finish of the wool trousers. Her long dark hair is half pulled back, falling past her shoulders in loose waves with warm brown depth through the lengths, and she holds a soft closed-lip smile with her hands slipped into her trouser pockets. The lighting is broad and diffused from the front, producing soft shadow under the jaw and an even, luminous skin texture with no harsh specular highlights. The color palette is restrained, built on mid gray, ivory and black with the natural warmth of her skin as the only accent. Captured at high resolution on a digital camera with a portrait lens, the image is crisp and noise-free, and the overall mood is polished, approachable and quietly confident.HEX VALUES: #656463 #121213 #ddd9d3 #cac3bc #b4aba3 #3b2b22 #ba9582 #7c7b79 #444342 #f0ece402. Knit turtleneck on the bentwood chair (black and white)

A straight-on medium portrait in black and white shows a young Asian woman seated backwards on a dark bentwood cafe chair, her forearms folded and resting along the curved top rail. She wears a fine-gauge ribbed turtleneck sweater in a soft mid tone, the knit texture clearly visible across the shoulders and cuffs, with a fitted body and long sleeves pushed slightly up the wrist. Her hair is swept back into a low gathered style with several loose strands falling forward to frame her cheekbones and jaw, and her expression is calm and direct to camera with softly parted lips. The bentwood chair's glossy curved frame forms a strong dark arc across the lower third of the frame, anchoring the composition. The backdrop is a smooth, unlit mid-gray seamless that falls off gently darker toward the corners. Lighting is soft and frontal with a slight fall from above, modelling the cheekbones and collarbone while keeping the grayscale tonal range wide and creamy. Rendered in high-resolution monochrome with fine detail in the knit and hair and no visible grain, the mood is intimate, composed and editorial.HEX VALUES: #3c3a39 #b3b2b2 #1b1b1b #9c9b9b #848282 #6c6a6a #050405 #545252 #cac4c3 #ded9d803. Oversized suit on the stool (black and white)

A straight-on full-length black and white studio portrait depicts a young Asian woman perched on a tall dark wooden stool against a mottled, hand-painted canvas backdrop. She wears an oversized single-breasted suit in a pale tone, the blazer cut long with strong padded shoulders and wide notch lapels, sleeves pushed up to the forearm, worn over a matching top and full wide-leg trousers that break over pointed white heels. The suiting fabric reads as a smooth matte weave that holds crisp vertical creases down the leg. She accessorises with a chunky chain-link necklace and a wide textured cuff bracelet, and her dark hair is pulled back cleanly with a few soft strands loose at the temple. Her posture is open and grounded, one foot hooked on the stool rail, hands resting on the seat edge between her knees. The lighting is directional from the front and slightly above, carving gentle shadow beneath the lapels while the painterly backdrop falls away into deep shadow at the edges. The grayscale palette runs from near-black in the floor to soft pearl in the suit. Black blazer, three-quarter turn (black and white)

A medium black and white studio portrait captures a young Asian woman turned slightly off-axis with her gaze directed away from the lens to her right, conveying quiet self-possession. She wears a sharply tailored black single-breasted blazer with a deep notch lapel and a nipped waist, layered over a simple white top that shows as a clean bright wedge at the neckline. The wool reads dense and matte, absorbing light so the silhouette holds a strong graphic edge against the background. Her hair is drawn back into a low twisted bun with soft tendrils released at the temples and nape, and she wears a single squared geometric earring that catches a small highlight. The background is a smooth seamless gray that gradates from light behind her shoulder to deeper tone at the frame edge, separating the dark jacket cleanly. Soft directional lighting from the front left shapes the cheekbone and jawline while keeping shadow detail open in the blazer. The monochrome palette is anchored by dense black, warm mid grays and a bright white accent. She wears an all-black outfit of a tailored single-breasted blazer with covered buttons, straight-leg trousers and polished black leather Chelsea boots, and she rests her chin lightly on one hand with her elbow on the chair arm, legs crossed. A slim silver link watch sits at her wrist and her dark hair is pulled back with soft strands loose around the face. To her right a black structured top-handle handbag sits on a chrome and glass side table, and a framed black and white FASHION print hangs on the cream wall above. Warm daylight enters from the left, casting long soft-edged shadows across the pale floor and wall and giving the scene depth without harsh contrast. The color palette is warm neutral throughout: cream, bone, walnut brown and deep black. Captured at high resolution with deep focus and clean detail in the fabric and leather, the mood is aspirational, editorial and composed.HEX VALUES: #cdc2b3 #f2e9dc #baaa95 #191512 #2d2924 #a3927c #030202 #4b443b #e1d5c4 #7b736306. All black on the leather sofa

A straight-on full-body editorial portrait features a young Asian woman seated on a low black leather sofa against a smooth gray concrete wall. She wears a collarless black blazer draped open over a fitted black bandeau top and a long black skirt with a high front slit, finished with pointed black leather heels. The blazer is a crisp matte suiting fabric with a clean unstructured shoulder, contrasting the soft drape of the skirt and the panelled sheen of the leather upholstery. A fine gold pendant necklace sits at her collarbone, and her dark hair is pulled back into a low style with wispy strands framing her face. Her legs are angled and crossed at the ankle with her hands resting loosely in her lap, projecting stillness and control. Even, softly diffused studio light fills the scene from the front, holding detail in the black fabrics and raising a gentle sheen on the leather while the concrete wall stays flat and cool. The palette is almost entirely black, cool concrete gray and white, with her skin tone the single warm note. She wears a rich tobacco brown suit: a single-breasted blazer with a defined waist and peak lapel over a matching top, paired with long wide-leg trousers that fall to black strappy stiletto sandals. The suiting is a smooth matte crepe that reads warm and saturated against the dark background, holding a soft sheen along the lapel and sleeve. Her dark hair is swept over one shoulder in loose waves with warm brown depth in the lengths, and her expression is level and unsmiling, directed straight to camera. She sits with one leg crossed over the other and her hands resting easily on her knee. She wears delicate silver wire-rim glasses and a small silver ear cuff, and her long dark hair falls in soft waves well past her shoulders, parted slightly off-centre. Her expression is warm and lightly smiling, direct to the lens, giving an approachable graduate-professional feel. The folders fan slightly to show layered edges of navy, green, purple and pale yellow, adding the only saturated color in the frame.
