1. Elements of AI 🎓
What it is: the University of Helsinki's free introduction to AI, and the one over 2 million people have used to finally understand the basics. Chapters on what AI can and cannot do, how machines "learn", and where it's heading.

2. Anthropic, AI Fluency: Framework and Foundations 🧠
What it is: a free course from Anthropic, the makers of Claude, that teaches the skill of working with AI rather than facts about it. It's built on their 4D framework: delegation, description, discernment and diligence, which is basically knowing what to hand over, how to ask, how to judge the answer and how to stay responsible for it.

- ⏱️ Time About 3 hours.
- 📜 What you get A completion certificate, and the habit that separates people who get useful answers from people who get generic ones.
- 🙋 Who it's for Everyone, but especially if you already use ChatGPT or Claude and feel like you're not getting much back.

3. Agentblazer Champion 2026 (Salesforce Trailhead) ⚡
What it is: Salesforce's free training path on AI agents, on their learning platform Trailhead. Finish the trail and you earn Agentblazer Champion 2026, a status that shows on your public Trailblazer profile. It's the first of three levels: Champion, then Innovator, then Legend, and each one unlocks the next.
What it actually teaches: AI fundamentals (generative AI, large language models, natural language processing), AI ethics and trust, data fundamentals, prompt writing and Prompt Builder, how autonomous agents work, and Agentforce itself. The last section is hands-on: you assemble a working service agent and use employee agents to get real tasks done.
- 💸 Cost Free. You need a free Trailhead account and a free Trailhead Playground (a practice Salesforce workspace you create from inside Trailhead). No paid licence, no company account, no card.
- ⏱️ Time Salesforce says about 10 hours 18 minutes across 6 sections and 32 steps. Budget 12 to 15 if you're new, because the hands-on parts always run over.
- 📜 What you get The Agentblazer Champion 2026 status on your public profile, badges and points per module, and access to the Agentblazer community. You can list it on LinkedIn under certifications yourself, with your Trailblazer profile as the proof link.
- 🙋 Who it's for Anyone near the Salesforce world (admins, sales and service teams, marketing ops, agencies with Salesforce clients), and career switchers who want a free, structured, verifiable AI credential instead of another unfinished YouTube playlist.
⚠️ Say it accurately, because this trips people up. Agentblazer is a status, not a certification. There's no exam and no fee. The actual certification in this family is Salesforce Certified Agentforce Specialist, which is a paid, proctored exam and is only required for the top Legend level. So if someone tells you Agentblazer is a free Salesforce certification, they're half right: it's free, it isn't a certification.
💡 Two things to know before you start. The status is year-stamped, so Salesforce expects you to complete the latest trail each year to keep it current, and a 2025 status doesn't roll into 2026. Also, it's Salesforce-specific: the transferable parts are prompt writing, agent design and AI ethics, and the rest assumes you care about Salesforce.

4. NotebookLM 🎧
What it is: a free Google tool where you upload your own notes, PDFs or slides and it answers questions using only those documents, summarises them, and turns them into an audio overview that sounds like two people discussing your material.

- ⏱️ Time 10 minutes to your first "oh, that's what people mean" moment.
- 📜 What you get No certificate. This one's here because it's the fastest way to feel AI working on your stuff, which is the moment the behind feeling actually goes.
- 🙋 Who it's for Students, anyone with a pile of unread PDFs, and anyone who learns better by listening.

How to actually get through it 📌
- 📅 Week 1 Elements of AI, chapters 1 and 2, one sitting a night. Upload one of your own documents to NotebookLM and ask it 3 questions.
- 📅 Week 2 Anthropic's AI Fluency, start to finish, and claim the certificate. It's the shortest one here and the one that changes how you use AI daily.
- 📅 Weeks 3 and 4 The Agentblazer Champion 2026 trail. Do the reading sections on the train and save the hands-on agent build for a weekend, when you can sit with the Playground.
- 📅 After that Add both certificates and your Trailblazer profile link to LinkedIn. Then pick one real task at work and rebuild it with what you learned, because that's what people actually notice.
🌱 You are not behind. You just needed a starting line, and a list that doesn't waste your money.

What I left out, and why 🙏
⚠️ Google AI Essentials gets recommended constantly as a free beginner course. It isn't free: it sits behind Coursera's subscription (around $49 USD a month after the trial). Anthropic's AI Fluency does the same job at no cost, which is why it's number 2 on this list.
💡 Free courses are the start, not the credential. None of these get you hired on their own. What gets you hired is one visible thing you built or fixed with AI. Do the courses to stop feeling lost, then build something small and boring at work and tell people about it.
