Build an earnings season command center with Claude

Hey, it's Cindy ๐ŸŒฑ This is the exact build from my reel: one Claude conversation that turns earnings season into a single calendar you actually check.

the basics

What you're building

One interactive page: a countdown to every report date on your watchlist, the consensus numbers analysts expect, and a short what to watch brief per company. Claude researches it live with web search (and cites its sources), then codes it as an artifact, a mini app that runs right inside your chat.

the setup

Step 1: switch web search on

  1. ๐Ÿงญ Open Claude at https://claude.ai and start a new chat.
  2. ๐ŸŽš๏ธ Toggle web search on: click the sliders icon in the chat input and switch Web search on (official guide: enabling and using web search).
  3. โœ… Why it matters: without web search, Claude cannot know current dates or estimates. You want real numbers with sources, not guesses.

copy this

Step 2: paste the master prompt

๐Ÿ“ˆ the earnings calendar prompt
Build me an interactive earnings season calendar for my watchlist: TSLA, AAPL, NVDA, MSFT, GOOGL, AMZN.

First, search the web for each company's next earnings report: the confirmed or expected date, consensus EPS estimate, revenue estimate, forward P/E, and last quarter's EPS surprise. Cite your sources so I can verify every number.

Then build the calendar as a single mobile-friendly HTML artifact with:
- a live countdown timer to each report date
- month filter tabs
- one expandable card per company with the numbers above
- a "what to watch" brief per company: the 3 to 5 catalysts and risks analysts are focused on going into the call

Design: dark theme, clean and professional. Label every estimate with its source and the date you pulled it, show a "data snapshot" date in the header, and include a line that this is research, not investment advice.
  • โœ๏ธ Make it yours: swap the tickers for your own watchlist. It works for any listed company with a reporting calendar.

verify it

Step 3: check the citations

  1. ๐Ÿ”Ž Skim the sources: Claude searches first and shows its sources, skim them before you trust a number.
  2. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Cross-check for free: verify dates and consensus EPS on Yahoo Finance's earnings calendar.
  3. ๐Ÿฆ Go to the primary source: for a confirmed date, the company's own investor relations page is the truth (search "[company] investor relations").

use it

Step 4: play with the artifact

  1. ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Explore it: the calendar appears in the artifact panel, filter by month, expand a card, watch the countdowns tick (artifacts explained: what are artifacts).
  2. ๐Ÿ“ฑ Take it with you: hit the share or publish button on the artifact to get a link you can open on your phone.

keep it current

Step 5: refresh it weekly

  1. ๐Ÿ” Know what's live and what's a snapshot: the countdown timers run on live code, but the estimates are frozen from the day you built it.
  2. ๐Ÿ’ฌ One-line refresh: once a week, send "Search for the latest confirmed dates and consensus estimates for my watchlist and rebuild the calendar". One sentence and everything refreshes.

the craft

How to read each card

  1. ๐Ÿ“… Confirmed vs expected date: companies lock the date a few weeks out, treat anything unconfirmed as an estimate.
  2. ๐Ÿ’ต Consensus EPS and revenue: the average of analyst forecasts. Prices react to the gap between reported and expected, not the raw number.
  3. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Last quarter's surprise: a habit of beating or missing tells you how much drama to expect on the day.
  4. ๐Ÿ“Š Forward P/E: how much growth is already priced in. The higher it is, the harsher a miss usually lands.
  5. ๐Ÿงญ Guidance: prices often move more on next quarter's guidance than on the quarter being reported.

Timing note

  • โฐ Perfect moment: Q2 2026 earnings season kicked off the week of 13 July 2026, with the big US banks reporting from 14 July, so this is a great time to build yours (season preview: Q2 2026 earnings preview).

what to watch

The fine print

  1. โš–๏ธ Research, not advice: this is a research workflow, not financial advice. Claude organises public information so you can prepare, and the decisions (and the risk) stay yours.
  2. ๐Ÿงพ Always verify: estimates can move right up to the call, so verify anything you act on against the company's own filings and investor relations page.
