5 MCP servers that connect Claude to everything you do

Hey, it's Cindy ๐ŸŒฑ You commented MCP, so here is the setup list. In Claude these show up as connectors.
btw the waitlist for AI System Club is now open! If you're keen on using AI to automate your content, video editing, job search, business or build AI agents, feel free to sign up (only if you want to hehe). Ps. the waitlist gets first dibs:)
the basics

What MCP is, in one paragraph

MCP is an open standard Anthropic created so any app can expose its tools to an AI in a consistent way (modelcontextprotocol.io). Before it, every integration was bespoke. Now Notion, Gmail, Canva and hundreds of others publish one MCP server each, and Claude can talk to all of them. In the Claude apps you never see the word "server", you see a connector with a Connect button. Web connectors are available to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile (Anthropic support).

The mental model that makes this click. A connector does not give Claude new knowledge, it gives Claude hands. It also inherits your exact permissions: if you cannot open a document in Google Drive, neither can Claude through the connector. There is no back door.

How to turn any connector on

  1. โš™๏ธ Open the directory. Go to Customize then Connectors, and click the + next to Connectors. You can also get there from a chat: click the + in the lower left, hover Connectors, then Manage connectors.
  2. ๐Ÿ”Œ Connect the one you want. Click its card, read what it can actually do (each card lists read versus write capabilities), click Connect, and sign in to that service when the authentication window opens.
  3. ๐ŸŽš๏ธ Toggle them per conversation. Back in a chat, the + menu lets you switch individual connectors on and off. Leaving everything on all the time is noisy, so I turn on the two or three a task actually needs.
  4. ๐Ÿ‘€ Approve the first few actions deliberately. By default Claude asks before it does anything that changes something (sending an email, moving a file). Read those prompts properly for the first week rather than clicking through, because that is how you learn what each connector will and will not reach for.
On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner has to enable a connector for the organisation before anyone can authenticate to it individually. If a connector you expect is missing, that is usually why, and the fix is a message to your workspace owner rather than more clicking.

1. Notion: your notes become writable

The Notion connector lets Claude search across your workspace, create pages with real structure, edit existing ones and update database properties (connector page). The shift is that your notes stop being a place you copy things out of and become somewhere Claude can file work for you.

๐Ÿ“ turn a messy brain dump into a filed page
I am going to paste a messy set of notes from a call. Create a new page in my Notion workspace inside [PARENT PAGE OR DATABASE] and structure them properly.

Use a clear heading hierarchy, pull every decision into a "decisions" section and every action into a checklist with an owner and a due date where I mentioned one. Anything ambiguous goes into an "open questions" section rather than being quietly guessed at.

Before you create the page, search my workspace for an existing page on the same topic. If one exists, tell me and ask whether to update it instead of creating a duplicate. Here are the notes: [PASTE]

2. Gmail: drafting inside your real inbox

Claude can search and read your email in natural language, draft replies with the thread's context already loaded, and send, reply or forward with your approval each time (Google Workspace connectors). No more copying a thread into a chat window and pasting the answer back.

๐Ÿ“ฌ clear the replies you have been avoiding
Search my inbox for emails from the last seven days that are waiting on a reply from me and that I have not answered. Show me the list first, shortest to longest to deal with, with one line each on what the sender is actually asking for.

Then for the three you think are most overdue, draft a reply each. Match the tone of how I have written to that person before, keep it under 120 words, answer the actual question in the first sentence, and if a reply needs information only I have, leave a clearly marked gap rather than inventing it.

Save them as drafts. Do not send anything.
The last line is the habit worth keeping. Draft-only means you stay the person who presses send, and you catch the one reply where the tone is slightly off before your client does.

three

3. Google Calendar: it can see your week

Claude can read your events and shared calendars, create, update and delete events, find mutual availability across attendees, manage invitations and set up recurring meetings. Paired with Gmail it can go from an email asking to meet to an event on the calendar in one move.

๐Ÿ“… protect the week before it fills up
Look at my calendar for next week and tell me the truth about it: total hours in meetings, how much unbroken focus time I actually have left, and which days are worst.

Then find me two blocks of at least 90 minutes for deep work, placed where I already have momentum rather than squeezed between two calls, and create them as events called "focus block, do not book". Do not move or delete anything that already exists.

Finally, list any meeting next week that has no agenda and more than three attendees, and draft a short message I could send asking for an agenda or offering to skip.

four

4. Canva: designs generated from a sentence

The Canva connector can browse and summarise your existing designs, generate new ones from a conversation, autofill your brand templates, add charts, import files by link, and resize or export finished designs (connector page). If you already keep a brand kit in Canva, this is the one that saves the most obvious hour.

๐ŸŽจ a carousel without opening Canva
Create a [NUMBER] slide social carousel in Canva for [TOPIC], using my brand template [TEMPLATE NAME] so the fonts and colours stay on brand.

Slide one is the hook and should be a single short line that makes someone stop. The middle slides each carry exactly one idea, written in sentence case, no more than 25 words per slide, and they should build in a deliberate order rather than being interchangeable. The last slide is a soft call to action.

Write the copy first and show it to me as plain text for approval. Once I say yes, build the design and export it as PNGs at social size.
Approving the words before the design gets built is the whole trick. Fixing copy inside a finished layout is slow and annoying, and fixing it in a text list takes ten seconds.

five

5. Exa: research with real, current sources

Exa is an AI search engine with an MCP server, and it is free and open source with no API key needed for the basics (exa.ai/mcp). It gives Claude live web search plus the ability to pull the full content of any URL as clean text, which is the difference between a summary of what a model half-remembers and a brief built from pages that exist right now. It is listed in the Claude connectors directory as well (Exa connector), so it installs the same way as the others.

๐Ÿ”Ž a research brief you can actually cite
Use Exa to research [TOPIC OR COMPANY] and build me a briefing I could walk into a meeting with.

Prioritise sources from the last [TIMEFRAME] and open each one rather than working from the search snippet. I want: what is actually happening right now, who the three or four players that matter are, the strongest argument on each side of the main disagreement in this space, and the two things most likely to change in the next six months.

Every claim gets an inline link to the specific page it came from, and I want you to name your sources' obvious biases where they have one (a vendor writing about its own category, for example). If the good sources disagree with each other, show me the disagreement instead of averaging it into one bland sentence.

End with the three questions this research did not answer.

the payoff

Chain them: the Monday morning run

One connector is handy. The reason to turn on all five is that Claude can hand work from one to the next inside a single conversation. This is the routine I would set up first.

  1. 1๏ธโƒฃ Read the week. Calendar gives Claude the shape of your week, so everything after this is planned against reality rather than an imaginary empty diary.
  2. 2๏ธโƒฃ Triage the inbox. Gmail surfaces what is genuinely waiting on you and drafts the replies, all left as drafts for you to check.
  3. 3๏ธโƒฃ Fill the gaps with research. Exa pulls current sources on whatever you are walking into this week, with links you can click.
  4. 4๏ธโƒฃ File it where you will find it. Notion gets a single Monday page holding the plan, the open questions and the research links, in the right place in your workspace.
  5. 5๏ธโƒฃ Make the thing. Canva turns whatever needed to be visual into an on-brand asset, copy approved by you first.
๐ŸŒฑ the Monday chain
Run my Monday setup using my connectors, and tell me which one you are using at each step.

Start with my calendar for this week and summarise what is actually on it, including how much unbooked time I have. Then check Gmail for anything waiting on a reply from me that relates to something on that calendar, and draft those replies without sending them. Then use Exa to pull current background on [THE ONE MEETING OR TOPIC THAT MATTERS MOST THIS WEEK], with links.

Put all of it into one new Notion page called "week of [DATE]" with sections for the week's shape, the replies you drafted, the research, and the open questions. End your message to me with the single thing you think I should do first today and why.

use them well

4 habits that make connectors worth it

Turn on what the task needs Every connector switched on at once makes Claude slower and vaguer. Two or three per task is the sweet spot.
Draft, do not send Ask for drafts on anything that leaves your account. You stay the last check, and you will catch the one that was off.
Name the app when it matters Claude usually picks the right connector on its own, but saying "using Notion" removes the ambiguity when two could apply.
Only connect what you trust Connecting a service grants real access to it. Stick to the directory's verified connectors, and read the capability list on each card before you click connect.
